The Netherlands Squad in UEFA EURO 2020

1. HOW IS THE NETHERLANDS SQUAD IN UEFA EURO 2020?
The Netherlands national football team (Het Nederlands Elftal in Dutch) has represented the Netherlands in international men's football games since 1905. The squad is managed by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB), which is a part of UEFA, and under the jurisdiction of FIFA. They are widely considered one of the strongest teams in world football.
Netherlands squad in Euro 2020
The Netherlands team have appeared in nine UEFA European Championships, winning the 1988 tournament in West Germany. The UEFA Euro 2020 is the tenth season that they take part in. The final tournament officially took place on 11th June 2021 after a year delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic so that it was also called the Euro 2021.
On 8th June 2021, Holland midfielder Donny Van de Beek (Manchester United) announced not to join the Netherlands squad due to his groin injury. The other news is that the Netherlands' star defender and captain Virgil van Dijk is also not playing, having missed all of Liverpool's season through injury- a major blow to the Oranje. There was no replacement in the list of the Netherlands manager so that the Netherlands Euro 2020 squad will feature only 25 players instead of 26 as usual.
