Andoni Iraola has one year left on his deal, which runs until 2026.

Andoni Iraola is leaning towards committing his immediate future to Bournemouth, despite being linked with potential vacancies at clubs such as Tottenham should a managerial change occur.

The 42-year-old has one full season remaining on his contract at the Vitality Stadium, and his impressive work over the past two campaigns has attracted interest from higher up the Premier League.

However, sources now indicate that the Basque coach is likely to remain on the south coast beyond this season, with Bournemouth pushing for European qualification in the 2025-26 campaign.

With his current deal running until 2026, Bournemouth are also keen to tie Iraola down to a longer contract.

As reported by The Telegraph last month, Iraola would be among the names considered by Spurs if Ange Postecoglou were to depart, with Fulham’s Marco Silva and Brentford boss Thomas Frank also admired.

Andoni Iraola’s emergence as one of the Premier League’s most exciting coaching talents has been solidified over the past 18 months, despite a difficult start to life at Bournemouth after replacing Gary O’Neil.

The Cherries found themselves in the relegation zone after 10 games under the Spaniard, but as his high-intensity, attacking philosophy began to take hold, the team surged to a 12th-place finish. Dominic Solanke thrived under Iraola’s guidance, earning a £65 million move to Tottenham after a standout season.

This year, more players have flourished under Iraola’s leadership, attracting attention from elite clubs. Liverpool are reportedly eyeing Hungary full-back Milos Kerkez, while 20-year-old Dean Huijsen is being closely tracked by top European sides as a future star at centre-back.

Antoine Semenyo, signed for £10 million from Bristol City, has also significantly increased his value. The Ghana international netted the winner against Fulham on Monday, lifting Bournemouth to eighth in the Premier League table.

Iraola’s own rise began at Rayo Vallecano, where he led the club to La Liga promotion via the play-offs and kept them up for two consecutive seasons before Bournemouth came calling. As a player, he spent 12 years in La Liga with Athletic Bilbao before a final stint at New York City FC, retiring soon after.
