Euro 2024 Draw Interrupted by Unwanted Sex Noises

During the UEFA draw for Euro 2024 in Hamburg, lewd sounds were audible when Switzerland was drawn into the same group as Scotland, Hungary, and hosts Germany. This elicited smirks among audience members. Despite the efforts of host Giorgio Marchetti, the deputy general secretary of European football's governing body, to regain control of the situation, further indecent interruptions occurred throughout the draw.

He said: "There is some noise here that… has now stopped. No noise any more."

Asked if he had noticed any unusual sounds in the hall, England boss Gareth Southgate said: "I did. I'm assuming it was some sort of prank, but it was hard to really make out what it was."

While UEFA has not provided an official comment, it is believed that the governing body will conduct an investigation to determine the nature and cause of the lewd sounds heard during the Euro 2024 draw. Internet prankster Daniel Jarvis later claimed responsibility for the incident, stating that he broadcasted himself live on a social media platform (referred to as X) and used a mobile phone to trigger the inappropriate noises at the event. Jarvis expressed his involvement and appreciation to his followers, stating, "Listen, that was us. We got it in there, we put the phone in there, we rang it, sex noise at the Euro 2024 draw. Love you guys."

Daniel Jarvis had previously claimed responsibility for a similar prank during the BBC's coverage of an FA Cup match between Wolves and Liverpool, where obscene noises disrupted the broadcast hosted by Gary Lineker. The incident, for which the broadcaster issued an apology, also involved the use of a secretly placed mobile phone. Lineker later shared his thoughts on a social media platform (referred to as X), stating that he found it to be a "good prank" and added, "As sabotage goes, it was quite amusing."
