On a day dedicated to honoring Jürgen Klopp, who recently revealed his decision to step down as manager at the end of the season, Liverpool showcased their attacking prowess with five different goalscorers in a 5-2 victory over Norwich City. Here are five noteworthy observations from this chilly afternoon at Anfield.

Anfield makes its feelings known

The football on display was undoubtedly of high quality, yet the focus of this game was overshadowed by one individual.

Klopp's announcement earlier in the week had naturally triggered a significant response throughout the football community, and at Anfield, Liverpool supporters seized the opportunity to express their love and gratitude for the cherished manager.

From the opening minute, the distinctive rendition of Klopp's special version of "I Feel Fine" echoed through the stadium. As the final whistle blew, fans remained, creating a heartfelt serenade for their hero who orchestrated another triumph at Anfield.

McConnell shines on full debut

Klopp's unwavering commitment to nurturing and entrusting young talent has been a recurring theme during his tenure at Liverpool, and it took center stage in this match.

The Reds fielded a starting lineup featuring four Academy graduates, with two of them combining in an exquisite manner to secure the game's opening goal.

James McConnell, making his full debut after three substitute appearances totaling 18 minutes, showcased his talent in midfield. The 19-year-old, who has been with Liverpool since the age of 14, delivered a beautifully flighted ball to the back post, expertly headed home by Jones.

This marked McConnell's first senior assist, and he earned praise not just for this contribution but also for his overall performance. He adeptly managed the ball, engaged in decisive tackles, and won the approval of the Kop.

Despite experiencing some late cramping, he seemed to thoroughly enjoy his moment on the pitch, and rightfully so.

Bradley doubles up

Conor Bradley has fond memories of facing Norwich, as it was against them in September 2021 that the Northern Irishman marked his professional debut, contributing significantly to their defeat with two assists.

His first assist was particularly impressive, involving a well-executed one-two with Diogo Jota and providing the assist for Darwin Nunez. The second assist showcased his relentless spirit, as he arrived in the box during stoppage time to set up Ryan Gravenberch.

Amidst the demands placed on him by Liverpool, the 20-year-old has consistently risen to the occasion, displaying his growing impact on the pitch.

Bench strength says it all

Liverpool undoubtedly had an exceptionally strong substitutes' bench on Sunday, featuring captain Virgil van Dijk, vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold, and top-tier players such as Luis Diaz, Andy Robertson, and Dominik Szoboszlai, all of whom joined the action in the second half.

The wealth of talent on the bench was further emphasized by the non-utilization of Harvey Elliott, the absence of Alexis Mac Allister from the squad, and the imminent returns of Stefan Bajcetic, Thiago Alcantara, and Kostas Tsimikas, providing Jürgen Klopp with ample strength and depth for the upcoming crucial months.

Gravenberch gets his reward

The first word in Liverpool's comprehensive 5-2 victory over Norwich came from a local lad, and the final word belonged to a Dutchman.

Ryan Gravenberch, the 21-year-old midfielder, capped off the scoring with a header from Conor Bradley's volleyed cross in front of the Kop. Gravenberch, stationed on the left side of Liverpool's midfield trio, delivered a standout performance and could have secured a hat-trick if not for a first-half goal-line clearance and an exceptional save by Norwich goalkeeper George Long in the second half.

Gravenberch's persistence eventually paid off, and his radiant smile mirrored the satisfaction of a job well done.
