The Premier League is renowned for its intensity and competitiveness, with tight, cautious games often highlighting the high level of talent in the division. Even teams without world-class stars can pull off surprises if they perform at their peak.

As a result, hat-tricks are quite rare. Scoring a single goal in a Premier League match is already a significant achievement, and netting three demonstrates exceptional skill. The 2023/24 season saw a record-tying 17 hat-tricks, matching the most ever in the league’s history.

For those who find hat-tricks impressive, achieving one in record time is even more extraordinary. Scoring three goals in rapid succession is a feat that many dream of, yet several players have accomplished a hat-trick in 10 minutes or less. We’ve ranked the nine quickest hat-tricks in Premier League history since its inception in 1992, with the most recent addition dating back to 2015.

9. Teddy Sheringham - 10 minutes, 0 seconds

Man United 5-0 Southampton

During Manchester United's golden era under Sir Alex Ferguson, they often enjoyed dominant victories at 'Theatre of Dreams,' which played a key role in their consistent title wins. On a chilly October day in 2000, the Red Devils perfectly showcased this dominance with a 5-0 thrashing of Southampton.

Teddy Sheringham made his mark by scoring his first goal in first-half stoppage time and then completed his hat-trick early in the second half, in the 55th minute. The former Tottenham striker displayed his sharp instincts with three goals. David Beckham and Paul Scholes, two of the finest players in Premier League history, provided crucial assists for Sheringham’s goals.

8. Jermaine Pennant- 10 minutes, 0 seconds

Arsenal 6-1 Southampton

Jermaine Pennant, despite spending six years at Arsenal and battling homesickness, only managed to score three goals for the club. What's extraordinary about these goals is that they all came in a single match. In a late-season home fixture against Southampton, Pennant opened the scoring in the 16th minute and completed his hat-trick just 10 minutes later. Remarkably, this was his full league debut. In that game, Robert Pires also scored a hat-trick, helping the Gunners secure second place behind Manchester United.

7. Ian Wright - 9 minutes, 0 seconds

Arsenal 4-1 Ipswich

Ian Wright, one of England’s all-time great strikers, demonstrated his exceptional talent in a memorable match against Ipswich in 1995. Known for his ability to outmaneuver defenders, Wright proved his prowess by scoring a hat-trick in just nine minutes early in the second half. After Paul Merson had given Arsenal a 1-0 lead at halftime, Wright's three goals between the 47th and 56th minutes secured a 4-0 victory. Despite his remarkable performance, the season ended in disappointment for Arsenal, who finished 12th in the league, far below their usual standards.

6. Sergio Aguero - 8 minutes, 0 seconds

Man City 6-1 Newcastle

Sergio Agüero's Premier League career is filled with iconic moments, cementing his place as one of Argentina’s greatest footballers. He famously scored the dramatic stoppage-time goal in 2012 that clinched Manchester City's first Premier League title. His hat-trick against Newcastle in January 2015 further showcased his exceptional talent.

Agüero struck first in the 42nd minute and completed his hat-trick early in the second half, with his third goal coming in the 50th minute. Demonstrating his extraordinary ability, he added two more goals within the next 12 minutes. His performance was nothing short of world-class, leaving fans and critics alike in awe of his breathtaking skill.

5. Andy Carroll - 7 minutes, 14 seconds

West Ham 3-3 Arsenal

Andy Carroll, often overlooked despite his stints with Liverpool, Newcastle, and West Ham, had a standout performance against Arsenal in 2016 that showcased his prowess. While not regarded as one of the greatest players, he made a significant impact with a hat-trick that day.

Carroll's first goal came from a powerful header at the far post off Aaron Cresswell’s left-wing cross. He added a second by capitalizing on space granted by the Arsenal defense, converting at the second attempt during first-half stoppage time. He completed his hat-trick with a header over Hector Bellerin, beating David Ospina. It was a memorable hat-trick in claret and blue, halting Arsenal's title aspirations.

4. Gabriel Agbonlahor - 7 minutes, 10 seconds

Aston Villa 4-2 Man City

Aston Villa's match against Manchester City perfectly illustrated the idea of 'two sides of the same coin.' The first half was uneventful, but the game quickly ignited after both teams scored to level at 1-1. Gabriel Agbonlahor emerged as the hero for Villa, putting them back in the lead with a goal from a John Carew knockdown.

Agbonlahor then headed in a Gareth Barry cross to make it 3-1, and completed his hat-trick by finishing a precise pass from Barry. Vedran Corluka's late goal for City was merely a consolation. Agbonlahor's remarkable performance, which all took place within seven minutes, secured a memorable victory for the Midlands side.

3. Jermain Defoe - 7 minutes, 0 seconds

Tottenham 9-1 Wigan

Tottenham Hotspur's 9-1 demolition of Wigan stands as one of the most significant victories in Premier League history, highlighted by Jermain Defoe’s astonishing seven-minute hat-trick. The match was tightly contested at 1-0 at halftime, thanks to a ninth-minute goal from Peter Crouch. However, Defoe, one of Tottenham's all-time great strikers, came alive in the second half. He netted five goals after the break, with his first three coming between the 51st and 58th minutes. Defoe's clinical finishing was a key factor in the rout, which was made easier by Wigan’s apparent collapse in the second half.

2. Robbie Fowler - 4 minutes, 33 seconds

Liverpool 3-0 Arsenal

Robbie Fowler’s four-minute hat-trick ranks second on the list and is also the oldest. During the early stages of the 1994/95 season, Fowler, a Liverpool legend, was in sensational form. He scored his first goal in the 26th minute after a precise pass from Ian Rush and completed his hat-trick by the 31st minute. Fowler’s remarkable achievement held the record for over 20 years and his stellar performance led Liverpool to a dominant victory over Arsenal at Anfield, marking one of their most comfortable wins of the season.

1. Sadio Mane - 2 minutes, 56 seconds

Southampton 6-1 Aston Villa

In May 2015, Sadio Mané, who would later become one of Liverpool's all-time greats, made headlines while still with Southampton. During a match against Aston Villa, Mané scored a remarkable hat-trick in just three minutes. He netted his first goal in the 13th minute with a side-footed shot following a save by Shay Given. Just two minutes later, he tapped in a second after Ron Vlaar's error, and completed his hat-trick with a precise first-time strike in the 16th minute. Mané's efforts gave Southampton a 3-0 lead, which they extended to a 6-1 victory over the already-relegated Villa.
