Following months of anticipation and fan speculation, the T1 League of Legends roster for the 2024 season has finally been confirmed. The announcement came after T1's victory in the 2023 World Championship, adding to the excitement surrounding the team.

T1 initially hinted at an upcoming announcement, building up the anticipation among fans. The teaser was released at 2:10 a.m. on November 23, just four days after their triumphant fourth World Championship title win.

Being the sole representative of the LCK in the competition, T1 faced off against Weibo Gaming, the fourth seed from the LPL, in the final. They achieved a dominant performance, securing a 3-0 sweep to claim the victory. Notably, this same roster had previously reached the final of Worlds 2022 a year prior but narrowly lost to DRX in a thrilling 3-2 match.

T1, the last remaining LCK team in the competition, faced off against Weibo Gaming, the fourth seed from the LPL, in the final. They displayed an exceptional performance, sweeping Weibo Gaming with a resounding 3-0 victory. It's worth noting that this T1 roster had previously qualified for the Worlds 2022 final, where they unfortunately fell short and lost in a closely contested series against DRX, with a final score of 3-2.

For the upcoming 2024 season, the T1 roster is determined to give it their all once again. They are ready to embark on another journey, aiming to achieve success and make their mark in the League of Legends scene.

At the conclusion of 2023, Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok, the iconic player, committed to T1 by signing a three-year contract that will run until November 2025. On the other hand, the contract of jungler Mun "Oner" Hyeon-jun is set to expire in 2024.

This situation led to speculation within the community as three members of T1's championship-winning roster became free agents following Worlds 2023. Fans and experts eagerly awaited news regarding the future plans of these players and the potential impact on the team's composition for the upcoming season.

Prior to the start of Worlds, Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong hinted in an interview with Naver that the current lineup of T1 could potentially be their last. This statement fueled speculation and added to the anticipation surrounding the team's future plans and potential roster changes. Fans and followers eagerly awaited further developments and announcements from T1 regarding their lineup for the upcoming season.

Today, T1 put an end to the speculations by announcing that bot laner Gumayusi, support Ryu "Keria" Min-seok, and top laner Choi "Zeus" Woo-je have all re-signed with the organization. This is a significant moment in T1's history as it marks the first time that a championship-winning roster has chosen to return in its entirety for another season.

In the past, even after T1 won Worlds in 2013, 2015, and 2016, none of those victorious lineups were able to compete together for another year. This makes the decision of Gumayusi, Keria, and Zeus to re-sign with T1 a unique and exciting development for the organization and its fans. The continuity of the roster brings renewed hope and anticipation for future success.

In a momentous announcement, T1 revealed yesterday that Kim "kkOma" Jeong-gyun, the former head coach of their previous championship-winning lineups, will be making a comeback. kkOma will take on the role of head coach for the Worlds 2023 champions in the upcoming season.

This news holds significant weight as kkOma has a remarkable coaching record, having led T1 to multiple championship victories in the past. Furthermore, he recently guided South Korea's national team to a gold medal at the Asian Games, showcasing his exceptional coaching abilities.

Following the unexpected resignation of head coach Bae "Bengi" Seong-woong, who had won the World Championship three times, T1 faced a coaching transition during LCK Summer 2023. Former SK Telecom T1 jungler Im "Tom" Jae-hyeon took on the role of interim head coach, stepping up to lead the team.

Under Tom's guidance, T1 completed the remainder of the LCK Summer 2023 season. They finished fifth in the regular season and performed well in the playoffs, securing a second-place finish. However, in the final, they were defeated by Gen.G in a 3-0 series.

Despite falling short in the playoffs, Tom's interim coaching stint provided stability and allowed T1 to continue their competitive journey during the season.

Having secured the second seed through championship points, T1 qualified for Worlds 2023. During the Swiss stage, they performed admirably with a 3-1 record. Progressing to the playoffs, T1 demonstrated their strength by defeating LNG Esports with a convincing 3-0 score in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, they faced off against JD Gaming and emerged victorious with a 3-1 win. Finally, T1 triumphed over another formidable LPL team, Weibo Gaming, in the final to claim the championship title for Worlds 2023. Their impressive journey showcased their resilience and ability to overcome tough opponents on their path to victory.
