Jude Bellingham - Reject Real Madrid, Man City, and PSG and stay at Dortmund!
Despite the interest from all of Europe's top clubs in signing England midfielder Jude Bellingham, it would be beneficial for his development to spend another season at Signal Iduna Park. Unfortunately, Liverpool will not be able to sign him this summer, which is a disappointment for both the club and the player, as a move to Merseyside would have been a logical choice.
Liverpool is currently in need of a player similar to Steven Gerrard, and Bellingham would have had the ideal opportunity to showcase himself as a talented player with potential for the future at Anfield. He wouldn't have just been a guaranteed starter, but also the foundation upon which Jurgen Klopp could have built his next great Liverpool team.
Sadly, due to Liverpool's significant dip in form this season, which is likely to result in them missing out on Champions League football and subsequent financing for next season, any hope of German coach Jurgen Klopp signing Bellingham has been dashed.

Dortmund is understandably seeking a price of around €150 million (£132m/$165m) for their prized possession, and as Liverpool is not a state-sponsored club, they simply lack the resources to acquire the most sought-after teenager in world football and simultaneously overhaul their squad. While Bellingham still has many potential destinations to consider, the question remains whether any of them are as appealing as Anfield.
Manchester City
When wealthy is also a disadvantage
Manchester City is one of the primary contenders to sign Bellingham, and the chance to work with Pep Guardiola would undoubtedly be enticing for the English youngster.
Crucially, unlike Liverpool, the club's owners in Abu Dhabi have no financial restrictions. They could easily meet both Dortmund's asking price and Bellingham's wage demands without any problems.
However, from a player's standpoint, City's wealth has its drawbacks. The reigning Premier League champions can afford to make mistakes in the transfer market, and if an expensive signing doesn't pan out, they can just move on and sign someone else.
They have the luxury of being able to pay £42m ($53m) for a promising young English midfielder and keep him on the bench for almost the entire season. While some may argue that Bellingham is a much better player than Kalvin Phillips - and a vastly different one at that - Phillips' struggles at the Etihad this season highlight the difficulty in breaking into this City team.
Difficult to have a position in Pep's squad
Pep Guardiola may have a plan for Bellingham, but tactically he doesn't seem like the perfect fit for Manchester City. The team lacks a player with similar attributes to the 19-year-old, which could be both advantageous and problematic.
Bellingham will be difficult to have a position in Pep's squad if joining Man City
While Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva could depart this summer, Bellingham would not be a like-for-like replacement for either player. He is more direct and similar in style to Kevin De Bruyne. However, it's challenging to imagine Bellingham replacing the Belgian or even playing alongside him without making some modifications to his game. For instance, the talented Phil Foden has been in and out of City's starting lineup this season.
Playing under Guardiola and alongside some of the most intelligent footballers in the game could undoubtedly benefit Bellingham, but at his age, he needs to play and improve his skills. At present, Phillips, for example, is not doing either
Real Madrid
A dream destination of players
At present, it seems that Real Madrid may not have sufficient funds to sign Bellingham for Santiago Bernabeu this summer, but their financial limitations have never stopped them in the past. Real Madrid typically finds a way to acquire their desired players.
Furthermore, a player's eagerness to join Real Madrid can also play a crucial role in the transfer process. For most footballers, Real Madrid remains a dream destination, being the most successful team in the history of the European Cup and representing the pinnacle of their profession. Bellingham would share the same aspirations if he were to join Real Madrid.
Going to Madrid, Bellingham is just a substitute
During the past two transfer windows, Madrid have acquired two highly promising young midfielders in Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga. Tchouameni was once again a substitute in the recent match against Chelsea, while Camavinga played at left-back.
Both players were undoubtedly purchased with the future in mind, as the likes of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos cannot continue indefinitely.
Going Madrid, Bellingham is just a substitute
However, if Bellingham were to join Madrid at this particular moment, he may have to spend more time on the bench than he would like. Real's current priorities do not lie in acquiring another midfielder, which is a telling factor.
Manchester United
Sancho's story is a warn for Jude Bellingham
Stefan Effenberg, a club legend at Dortmund, recently advised Bellingham to stay put at the German club. In his column for Sport1, Effenberg pointed out that there are "no guarantees elsewhere - [Jadon] Sancho is the best example of this." It's a valid point considering Sancho's difficult start at Manchester United, despite his three excellent seasons at Signal Iduna Park.
Bellingham should not join in Man United
The mental strain of playing in one of the most pressurized environments in world football took a toll on Sancho, and he is only now starting to regain his form. Sancho wasn't helped by the constant turmoil at United, and while things have improved with the appointment of coach Erik ten Hag, the ongoing unrest at boardroom level remains a major concern.
The effect of ownership issue
Currently, many supporters hoped that the Glazer family, who are widely disliked, would sell Manchester United before the end of the season. However, this process might now extend into the summer, leaving less time for the new owners to prepare for next season.
As a result, it seems unlikely that United will sign Bellingham at this point in time. The club is not in a position to make such a significant deal while the ownership issue at Old Trafford remains unresolved. Bellingham would be wise to avoid the situation altogether.
Chelsea
While Manchester United's interest in Bellingham should be approached with caution, any offer from Chelsea must be immediately rejected. Since the new owners took over last summer, they have sacked two managers and spent over £500m ($625m) on players, putting them in danger of breaching Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.
Bellingham should avoid Chelsea at all costs
It doesn't make sense for Chelsea to bid for Bellingham, but their new owners seem keen on signing as many talented young players as possible. However, it's unlikely that Bellingham would be interested in joining a club that is in a state of flux.
With no Champions League football next season and uncertainty surrounding the club's future direction, Bellingham should avoid Chelsea at all costs.
Paris Saint-Germain
From one burning dumpster to another...
At present, Paris Saint-Germain are in a state of chaos. Despite being at the top of Ligue 1, their recent Champions League defeat in the last-16 has resulted in a lot of commotion at the Parc des Princes. Kylian Mbappe has claimed that he will remain at the club, but Lionel Messi, who has been offered a contract extension, is receiving jeers from PSG supporters, which has made his future with the club uncertain.
PSG is not ideal destination for Bellingham
Additionally, coach Christophe Galtier is already under immense pressure and has now become embroiled in a racism scandal that dates back to his tenure at Nice.
It's impossible to predict what will happen next for PSG. The QSI project appears to be in shambles, with a complete change of direction urgently required.
Choosing PSG means choosing constant chaos
Looking at it purely from a sporting standpoint, Bellingham would be a perfect addition to PSG, who are clearly lacking world-class talent behind their star-studded attacking trio. However, PSG are also facing their own Financial Fair Play (FFP) issues. Unless they can find a way to sell Neymar, which hasn't happened yet, or allow Messi to depart, it's unlikely they'll be willing to spend €150m on one player this summer. Moreover, for Bellingham, it's important to have stability in his career at this point, rather than constantly being surrounded by chaos.
Borussia Dortmund
It would be wise for Bellingham to spend another season at Dortmund, as he still has time on his side. Dortmund can offer him regular football at the highest level, as they are well on course to qualify for next season's Champions League and pose a threat to Bayern's Bundesliga dominance.
Continuing to play for Dortmund is the best choice for Bellingham
Man City and Madrid will still be interested in signing him next summer, and there will be more options and clarity by then, with the uncertainty at United, Chelsea, and PSG potentially dissipating. Even Liverpool may be in a position to join the race after a successful rebuild at Anfield.
Bellingham should prioritize regular football at the highest level, and he will have more options and clarity if he waits until next year to transfer. Despite the temptation to transfer this summer, it would be better for him to bide his time. As Effenberg stated, Bellingham is still young and has the potential to sign three or four top contracts in the future.
