Newcastle is moving swiftly to secure an early summer deal for Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo.

The defender is poised to be Newcastle's inaugural signing for the summer, arriving on a free transfer to alleviate the club's center-back injury woes. While Tosin is anticipated to contend for a starting role, he'll need to earn his place, providing competition for Swiss international Fabian Schar.

Newcastle's interest in Adarabioyo spans several years, and his impending free agency allows the club, backed by Saudi funds, to allocate resources towards bolstering their ranks with a right winger and striker. Additionally, Bournemouth's Lloyd Kelly, a left-sided defender, is also being courted for a move to the North East, similarly on a free transfer.

The Magpies are grappling with injuries to key defenders Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman, both sidelined with knee ligament damage until November. Furthermore, they are closely monitoring the progress of France U21 star Michael Olise to fortify their right attacking flank, potentially as a replacement for Miguel Almiron, who could depart for the Saudi Pro League.

Howe intends to retain star players Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes for the upcoming season, as rival clubs struggle to meet their £100 million price tags.

Additionally, squad players such as Paul Dummett, Matt Ritchie, and Matt Targett may depart, while the club aims to streamline its roster of experienced loaned-out players, including Isaac Hayden, Ryan Fraser, Jamal Lewis, and Jeff Hendrick.

Under Eddie Howe's guidance, Newcastle is aiming to reach a milestone of a hundred goals this season, amidst competition from Manchester United and Chelsea for European qualification.

Led by prolific striker Alexander Isak, the Magpies have amassed an impressive tally of 96 goals, including 79 in the Premier League, ranking fourth overall. Isak, with 20 goals to his name, is optimistic about regaining full fitness ahead of Wednesday's clash against Old Trafford. Notably, Newcastle has scored in every home league game this season, a feat not achieved in 65 years.

England winger Anthony Gordon is ready for the challenges posed by the upcoming matches against Old Trafford and Brentford. He expressed confidence in the team's ability to secure European qualification, emphasizing the importance of delivering strong performances.
