Viktor Gyokeres on Arsenal Transfer List as Edu Expands Striker Search, Assessing Seven More Options

As the summer transfer window approaches, Arsenal is closely monitoring Viktor Gyokeres along with other prominent center-forwards. However, a more specific search could potentially result in the exclusion of a previously considered top target, indicating a potential end to their pursuit.

According to reports from football.london, Arsenal is closely monitoring the development of Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres and holds an interest in the Swedish international ahead of the summer transfer window. The Gunners view Gyokeres as a player who possesses several qualities that align with their requirements for the upcoming season.

Having recorded an impressive tally of 36 goals and 14 assists across all competitions, the former Coventry City player has established himself as one of the most highly regarded talents in European football. Arsenal has identified the center-forward position as a key area to strengthen in the summer market, although Gyokeres is not the only player being assessed by the club.

Sources suggest that Arsenal has narrowed its search to focus on the top young strikers currently performing in the world's leading leagues. This refined parameter may exclude certain players who were previously mentioned as potential targets. For example, Ivan Toney's chances of joining Arsenal in the winter transfer window appeared less likely than initially suggested, and a summer move for the England international now seems even more improbable as he no longer fits the profile that the club is targeting.

One player who was mentioned earlier in the season is 22-year-old Santiago Gimenez, who has had an impressive campaign with 24 goals to his name. It is highly likely that he is still being closely monitored by Arsenal as a potential target. Another forward who faced Arsenal in the Champions League is Evanilson from Porto. The 24-year-old has scored 22 goals this season and also contributed six assists.

Other notable forwards who may be on Arsenal's radar include 22-year-old Brian Brobbey from Ajax, who has been involved in 28 goals this season. Lois Openda, 24, has contributed to 27 goals, while Victor Boniface, 23, has been involved in 24 goals. Victor Osimhen, despite being limited by injuries and his participation in the African Cup of Nations, continues to be linked with Arsenal. The Nigerian forward has contributed to 17 goals for Napoli this season.

Another notable young forward who could be of interest to Arsenal is Alexander Isak. Although he has faced some setbacks due to injuries, Isak is considered one of the top talents in his position. However, his high transfer fee of over £60 million when he joined Newcastle could make him a costly target for Arsenal.

In addition to Gyokeres, all the mentioned players could potentially be on Arsenal's list as they fit the criteria the club is seeking. However, it's important to note that Arsenal also has needs in other areas such as midfield, wide areas, and defense. Nevertheless, the fact that Gyokeres is one of the options being considered is encouraging. Mikel Arteta aims to elevate the center-forward position to new heights in the coming season, and with the team already scoring a significant number of goals, the future looks promising and exciting.
