Bournemouth vs West Ham Highlights

Despite their recent success in the European competition, West Ham shifted their focus towards their battle to avoid relegation. They got off to a perfect start by scoring two goals within the first 12 minutes of the game. Michail Antonio scored the first goal by heading in Aaron Cresswell's corner, and Lucas Paqueta doubled the lead with a header of his own seven minutes later. Declan Rice, who had scored in the previous European match against Gent, then scored a thumping goal two minutes before halftime to give West Ham a comfortable 3-0 lead. Substitute Pablo Fornals added a fourth goal for West Ham late in the second half with an acrobatic effort.

Although Bournemouth had won four of their previous six league games, they failed to recover after conceding two early goals. Rice's goal effectively ended their hopes of a comeback. With this victory, West Ham overtook Bournemouth and rose to 13th in the Premier League table with seven games remaining. On the other hand, Bournemouth dropped to 15th and are five points above the relegation zone with six games left to play.

Bournemouth vs West Ham Highlights

Bournemouth vs West Ham Summary

West Ham United secured a 4-0 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, which was only their second win in eight away matches against the Cherries.

Despite Gary O'Neil having played for West Ham in the past, sentiment was put aside as the Hammers took advantage of Bournemouth's weak defence. Michail Antonio headed in a corner from Aaron Cresswell to score the league's 60th goal, which was conceded by Bournemouth's leakiest backline this season. The visitors then doubled their lead just 12 minutes later when Lucas Paquetá headed in Vladimír Coufal's looping cross, rising above Jack Stephens.

Although Bournemouth initially struggled to cope with West Ham's intensity, they grew into the game and had some chances. Jefferson Lerma tested Łukasz Fabiański with a curling effort, and the goalkeeper was called upon again after Dominic Solanke beat Nayef Aguerd. However, Bournemouth's defensive problems persisted, as Lloyd Kelly surrendered possession to Jarrod Bowen, but was saved by a block from Stephens. The hosts failed to deal with another corner before halftime, and Declan Rice scored his second consecutive goal by smashing the ball past Neto.

Bournemouth vs West Ham Summary

Bournemouth's defence remained poor in the second half, and they were lucky to avoid conceding more goals. Antonio missed a chance to score again and failed to control the ball after Paquetá slipped it through for him. O'Neil made a triple substitution on the hour mark, but it was David Moyes' substitution, Pablo Fornals, who scored West Ham's fourth goal with a fantastically improvised finish from Bowen's cross.

Despite Maxwel Cornet being denied his first goal for West Ham due to being marginally offside, the team enjoyed a fifth consecutive unbeaten game in all competitions. This run has taken them six points clear of the relegation zone and into the UEFA Europa Conference League semi-final. Bournemouth are now one point behind West Ham, but they will take encouragement from their three wins in the last five games, as they still have to face Southampton, Leeds United, and Everton, who are all below them in the table.
