Odegaard Issues Warning to Arsenal: 'Respect' Kane Ahead of Bayern Clash

Martin Odegaard has issued a warning to his Arsenal teammates, urging them to show "respect" towards Harry Kane as they prepare to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Despite suffering recent defeats to Heidenheim and Borussia Dortmund, Harry Kane and Bayern Munich will face Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie. Kane, who has enjoyed an outstanding debut season with Bayern, has scored an impressive 38 goals in 37 games and provided 12 assists.

In light of Kane's remarkable form, Martin Odegaard has cautioned his Arsenal teammates against underestimating Bayern Munich. Odegaard emphasized that the Gunners cannot afford to take anything for granted when facing Thomas Tuchel's struggling side, who are expected to finish second in the Bundesliga, trailing leaders Bayer Leverkusen by 16 points.

Odegaard replied when being asked if Arsenal should fear Kane: “I think we should respect him, but I don’t think we should fear anyone.

“And we should focus on ourselves and the quality we have in our team, and that is all.

“[Kane is] a good player, of course, and I have played against him a few times and we know the quality he has in the box and he is also good in the link-up [play]. We are facing a good team on Tuesday.”

Throughout his career, Harry Kane has faced Arsenal 19 times, all during his tenure with Tottenham, and has managed to score 14 goals. However, he has only emerged victorious in seven of those matches, with Arsenal winning seven as well, and five ending in draws.

The upcoming clash between Arsenal and Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals will take place on Tuesday. Prior to the return leg, Arsenal will also face Aston Villa over the weekend, while Bayern will be up against Koln.
