According to The Telegraph, the negotiations between Bayern Munich and Tottenham have extended into the afternoon. Despite Bayern Munich's willingness to break their transfer record with an offer of up to £80 million, they still face a significant £20 million gap compared to Tottenham's valuation for the English national team captain.

Currently, Bayern Munich's transfer record stands at £68 million, paid for defender Lucas Hernandez four years ago. The reigning Bundesliga champions are likely to surpass that record if they want to persuade Chairman Levy to agree to Kane's transfer.

However, The Telegraph assesses that Bayern Munich remains extremely optimistic about this much-publicized deal, especially after Chairman Levy agreed to discuss Kane's future. The "Bavarians" are confident that the English forward will depart Tottenham during this transfer window, as his contract has less than 12 months remaining.

Some sources in Germany reveal that Chairman Levy will request a buy-back clause for Kane in the future. This would provide the 30-year-old striker with the opportunity to return to the "Spurs" and break the Premier League goal-scoring record set by the legendary Alan Shearer.

Further negotiations between Bayern Munich and Tottenham are expected to continue in the coming days. The "Bavarians" are confident that Kane is ready to make the move to Germany for the next phase of his career.

Bayern Munich's head coach, Thomas Tuchel, continues to urge the club's leadership to expedite the signing of Kane. He aims to have the English forward on board before the start of the new Bundesliga season on August 18th. A high-level delegation from Bayern Munich, including CEO Jan Christian Dreesden and Technical Director Marco Neppe, traveled to London on July 31st and had lunch with Tottenham's Chairman Daniel Levy in an effort to break the deadlock in the Harry Kane deal.
