Coutinho is suitable for Aston Villa

According to English sources, Philippe Coutinho has completed his medical test to play for Aston Villa until the end of this season on a loan from Barcelona. At this time, he is in Paris to complete paperwork for his work permit and will join the new teammates on Wednesday for his first training.

After recovering from Covid-19, the Brazilian midfielder need to warm up in some games to regain his full match fitness. It is possible that Coutinho debut for the Villa Park home team will be in the next match between them and Man Utd in the Premier League this Sunday.

Villa head coach Steven Gerrard said: “Philippe is currently in the process of finalising his immigration papers. We are looking forward to getting him on the training pitch with the team on Wednesday at Bodymoor. I am really pleased that we’ve been able to bring him on board and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Gerrard had been a teammate of Coutinho in Liverpool FC so he understands and highly appreciates his ability. According to Sky Sports, Villa will pay less than 50% of Coutinho's weekly wage, plus bonuses. The 29-year-old even agreed on a pay cut, with other clubs offering deals that would have seen him earn 100 per cent of his Barca wage.
