Erik ten Hag Sends a Message to Jadon Sancho: 'Future at Man Utd Depends on Yourself'

Erik ten Hag emphasizes that Jadon Sancho's future at Manchester United is contingent on the player's decisions.

Sancho is currently training separately from the first-team squad while awaiting resolution of a disciplinary matter. This situation arose after he accused Ten Hag of dishonesty regarding his exclusion from the matchday squad for the Premier League defeat to Arsenal on September 3.

Ten Hag stated that Sancho's omission was due to a drop in his training performance. However, in a statement posted and pinned to his Twitter profile, the winger countered this claim as "completely untrue."

Though Sancho has since deleted the post, he was not considered for selection in recent losses to Brighton and Bayern Munich, and he won't be included in the United squad for the Premier League fixture against Burnley on Saturday evening.

The prospect of Sancho playing for United again remains uncertain. "It depends on him. Meanwhile, we are focusing on preparing for Burnley, and he will not be part of the squad."

Sancho has expressed openness to a January transfer from United, and his representatives have explored the possibility of a return to Borussia Dortmund or a move to Nottingham Forest, where he would reunite with his former England Under-17 coach, Steve Cooper.

United has suffered losses in four of their last five games and conceded 14 goals in six matches this season. A loss to recently-promoted Burnley would mark the first time United has experienced four consecutive defeats since December 2015.

When asked if he was surprised by the magnitude of the challenge at United, Ten Hag, a compatriot of Louis van Gaal, who was in charge during the 2015 losing streak, replied, "No. It's my second year. I understand there are ups and downs, but facing challenges together makes you stronger.

"That's our approach. In the dressing room, among the staff, coaches, medical team—everyone is united. At United, we fight together."
