Judge orders Luis Rubiales to stay 200 meters away from Jenni Hermoso

Rubiales kissed Hermoso without her consent after Spain's Women's World Cup victory last month, sparking international outrage. Hermoso claims the act was non-consensual, while Rubiales disputes her account.

At the time of the incident, Rubiales was the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and initially resisted resigning, despite more than 80 players vowing not to play for La Roja as long as he remained in charge.

Last week, Rubiales finally stepped down from his position and appeared in court on Friday to potentially face sexual assault and coercion charges. During a private hearing to determine the case's course, prosecutors secured a restraining order for Hermoso's safety.

The restraining order forbids Rubiales from contacting Hermoso and restricts him from approaching within 200 meters of the Pachuca player. Judge Francisco de Jorge, overseeing the case, also requested broadcasters to provide footage of the incident.

Additionally, a statement from 39 Spanish female players demanded further reforms within the federation but did not specify whether their boycott of the national team would persist.

"We have conveyed to the (FA) that the changes made thus far are insufficient for players to feel safe, respected in an environment that is committed to women's football, and where we can perform at our best."

If found guilty, Rubiales could face a prison sentence ranging from one to four years. Despite his resignation and the departure of the controversial coach Jorge Vilda, Spain's World Cup champions have refused to participate in Spain's Nations League matches scheduled for later this month.
