Following Manchester United's victory over Newcastle, Erik ten Hag addressed the club's supporters.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag delivered a passionate message to the fans following his team's 3-2 victory over Newcastle in their final Premier League home match of the season.

Facing Eddie Howe's determined side, the Reds understood the importance of securing a win to keep their hopes alive for European qualification in the Premier League. Despite an early push from Newcastle, it was United who seized the lead in the 30th minute, with Kobbie Mainoo displaying composure to slot the ball past Martin Dubravka.

Although Anthony Gordon managed to equalize shortly after halftime, United regained the lead with a powerful strike from Amad in the 57th minute. A goal from substitute Rasmus Hojlund appeared to secure the victory for the Reds, but a remarkable stoppage-time goal from Lewis Hall kept the match tense until the final whistle.

After the game, Ten Hag stepped onto the pitch at Old Trafford and took hold of the microphone in the center circle, adhering to the tradition after the final home game of the season. Expressing gratitude to Manchester United's supporters, the Dutch manager said: "On behalf of the players, staff, and myself, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of you for the incredible support throughout the season.

"As you're aware, it hasn't been an easy journey this season, but one constant has been your unwavering support for the team. However, our season is not yet concluded. We have an important trip to Brighton ahead of us, where we aim for three points, and then we head to Wembley.

"I assure you that our players will give their all to secure that cup and bring it back to Old Trafford. And we are confident that you will be there, standing by us every step of the way.

"Thank you, you truly are the best supporters in the world." Following Ten Hag's speech, Wayne Rooney echoed his sentiments, praising the loyal United fans.

"I think the players and manager are very fortunate they have a set of fans like Man United fans," he told Sky Sports. "You see the atmosphere tonight and the reaction at the end of the game.

"The season hasn't been what they want, obviously it's not over and they still have the FA Cup to fight for, but it shows what great support this club has got. They are still behind the manager and you can see that, they are right behind the players and they want the team to do well.

"They will keep going until the FA Cup final and hopefully as Erik has said there they can bring the cup back."
