Manchester United have shared plans for their potential new stadium.

Manchester United has revealed its vision for a new 100,000-seater stadium that the club’s leadership aims to build.

Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe invested in his boyhood club, United has been open about its desire to construct a state-of-the-art stadium on land adjacent to Old Trafford. Ratcliffe has established The Old Trafford Task Force, which includes figures like Lord Seb Coe and Gary Neville. While the club has not ruled out renovating their current stadium, it is believed their preferred option is to develop a new £2 billion super stadium.

For the first time since this concept was introduced earlier this year, Manchester United has released several images showcasing what the potential new stadium could look like on their official website.

According to global advisory firm Oxford Economics, the regeneration plans for Trafford Park could enhance the local economy by over £7 billion. The proposed new stadium would be the centerpiece of this project, with computer-generated images of 'New Trafford' displaying a spherical design adorned in red, complete with an impressive roof.

The images, which also illustrate potential regeneration of the surrounding areas, were created by Foster + Partners, the architects behind the new Wembley Stadium. Since their release earlier this week, the plans have sparked significant interest and discussions among fans online.

While the proposed 100,000-seater stadium could become the 'Wembley of the North,' as suggested by Ratcliffe, it remains uncertain what will happen to Old Trafford if the plans move forward.

Initially, it was stated that Old Trafford would remain intact, albeit with a reduced capacity, to accommodate matches for the club's women’s and academy teams, preserving the historic venue. However, reports in The Mail last week indicated that these plans may have changed, raising questions about the future of Old Trafford given the complexities of the proposal.

In response, the club intends to establish a heritage focus group to ensure that the historical aspects of Old Trafford are preserved, should the stadium be demolished as part of the updated plans.
