Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson has expressed his sentiments following the announcement of manager Mauricio Pochettino's departure.

Pochettino, formerly of Spurs, assumed the helm at Stamford Bridge last summer, guiding Chelsea to a sixth-place finish after a sluggish start to the season. Despite losing just one of their last 15 league matches, against Mikel Arteta's Arsenal, the West London club concluded the campaign five points adrift of the Champions League places.

Jackson, who faced challenges during the season, benefited from Pochettino's support. He shared a photo of himself with the manager on Instagram, accompanied by two facepalm emojis. Jackson's posts reflected his appreciation for Pochettino's guidance and included well-wishes for the Argentine.

"Love you coach," the Senegalese striker wrote. "Wish we could have more time together. But may God continue to bless you and your family. Thanks for the advice and support; you're a true lion and fighter. Wishing you all the best."

Jackson also reposted an Instagram message from Pochettino, dated November. This came on the heels of Chelsea's 4-1 victory over Tottenham and a subsequent 4-4 draw with Manchester City, during which Jackson netted four goals.

"Extremely proud and happy of the players for the attitude and results they have produced in two difficult fixtures during this week," read the caption on Pochettino's post. "It is really satisfying to go to an international break with this feeling, although I prefer we have another game more sooner!"

"We want to build something special @chelseafc and this is exactly the way we want the players to perform and feel . Already this season we have had some high and low moments and the players are showing everyone the capacity they have to compete with any side. Thank you everyone for continuing to show such a great support for the team."

Jackson's hat-trick against Spurs and his goal against City were significant contributions to his season tally of 14 goals, coupled with five assists. Pochettino's influence on the former Villarreal star was palpable, but now, a new manager will need to fill those shoes.

"On behalf of everyone at Chelsea, we would like to express our gratitude to Mauricio for his service this season. He will be welcome back to Stamford Bridge any time, and we wish him all the very best in his future coaching career," stated Chelsea's sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley in a joint statement following Pochettino's departure.

Pochettino himself said: "Thank you to the Chelsea ownership group and Sporting Directors for the opportunity to be part of this football club's history. The Club is now well positioned to keep moving forward in the Premier League and Europe in the years to come."
