T1 emerged as the victors of the League of Legends World Championship, securing their fourth world title with a dominant 3-0 victory over Weibo Gaming in the final.

Throughout the tournament, T1 showcased their superiority, consistently making the right moves and executing strategies with precision. Their performance in the final was particularly impressive, as they outclassed their opponents in every map, resulting in a somewhat anticlimactic finish to an otherwise solid tournament.

Being the only team from South Korea to reach the semi-final stage, T1 enjoyed the advantage of hometown support as the tournament took place in Seoul's Gocheok Sky Dome. This year, all three other semi-finalists hailed from China's LPL league, making T1's journey to the final even more remarkable.

In the bracket stage, T1 convincingly defeated two Chinese teams, LNG Esports and JD Gaming, with respective scores of 3-0 and 3-1. This set the stage for their final showdown against Weibo Gaming, another Chinese team. The prevailing sentiment among many outside of Korea was that the Chinese teams were the favorites to win the tournament, making T1's victories over them a testament to their exceptional strength at Worlds.

With their fourth World Championship trophy, T1 has once again solidified their position as one of the most successful organizations in League of Legends history. This victory is particularly significant as it marks their first win since 2016, having reached the finals twice since then but falling short on both occasions. Last year, they suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to DRX.

T1 faced uncertainty this year, especially when star player Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok suffered an injury midway through the season. There was a genuine concern that they might not even qualify for Worlds. However, T1 proved their resilience and showcased their ability to overcome obstacles.

Despite the slightly underwhelming gameplay in the final, the overall spectacle of the Worlds event was captivating. The opening ceremony featured a live performance from Heartsteel, the boyband from the League of Legends universe, and KPop group NewJeans performed the Worlds 2023 anthem.

In addition to the musical performances, Riot Games announced that the 2024 Worlds final will be held at the renowned O2 Arena in London, with a capacity of up to 20,000 people. Following the success of this year's Mid-Season Invitational held in London, expectations for next year's final are already sky high.

Riot Games has announced that the next year's World Championship final will be held at The O2 arena in London. This exciting news was revealed prior to the match on Sunday.
